Two 19thc bone lace bobbins- William Pettit 1868 and George Fecps 1868 (Phipps?)

Two 19thc bone lace bobbins- William Pettit 1868 and George Fecps 1868 (Phipps?)Two inscribed lace bobbins with men's names and the date 1868. The first reads William Pettit and the other George Fecps presumably the bobbin maker's attempt to spell Phipps! I've put them as one lot as they are by the same maker going by the style of the letter E, the way the date is formed and similar spangles. In good condition one has lost the red colour on the sealing wax bands. Stock no. LM32G H

There are no cutler's marks on them but they came from a dealer who had just come back from a buying trip in France

In good condition- only minor signs of use on the barrel but with damage to the retaining ring on the end of the pencil

It is in good condition with no damage but the colour is stronger towards the head of the bobbin and more worn towards the tail presumably through handling
