Gould Campbell, VintageMedium deep ruby. Liqueur like aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, cassis, smoked meat, minerals and maple syrup. Juicy, intensely flavored and medium sweet; not unctuous but offers very good intensity and snap. Flavors of black fruits and licorice. A round, nicely balanced wine whose slightly fiery but persistent finish features rather fine tannins and good grip. Stephen Tanzer

the 2011 is likely to offer its best drinking over the next few years

this is very much built for the long-term and is going to need at least a decade of patience and should amply repay 20 or perhaps even more

indeed almost suave finish that cannot disguise the impressive power and robust structure
