Antoine Jobard, Puligny Montrachet Champ Gain(from a . 13 ha parcel; 2011 is the first vintage). The nose of the Champs Gains is not dissimilar to that of the Trzin except that its a bit more complex. There is excellent punch and really lovely detail to the solidly concentrated and lightly mineral inflected medium bodied flavors that possess fine depth on the delicious and lingering finish. This is a bigger and richer effort but overall this is only slightly better than the Trzin. (89 92) 2017+

Here too the admirably pure aromas are distinctly cool with its ripe nose of white peach and essence of pear that is trimmed in notes of subtle wood

At the same time

the vineyards limestone soils manage to impart the requisite acidity

Good stuff here

This awkward effort is tough to read though I am concerned about the balance over the longer-term

linear and moderately austere finale

This edition sees Cabernet Franc in the driver's seat (at 55% of the blend) because
