Sunset Wave

Sunset WaveMaui Rules. We took this image with our underwater camera from inside the wave looking out. It's at Makena beach also called Big Beach here on Maui. The shore break gets really, really big here. This was a 12 ft high wave which crashes right on the dry sand needless to say we got pummeled trying to get this shot. We love this one because it was at sunset and you can see the sun's rays coming through behind the clouds through the curl. The sunset also

Only about 4 families lived on the whole island

John had the good tripod this day capturing another great scene and I had to use a small plastic container from my car that has cracks in it as a tripod

The power and force of this image are undeniable

he's about 1 inch from the lens

This spearfisherman heads out into the beautiful Maui waters to hunt for some dinner

I know this is a long time but they are worth it
