SOLD……..A pearl tooth pick and ear spoon combination tool. c 1830A mother of pearl folding holder containing a folding silver earspoon, silver tooth pick and a short pearl pick which has lost its point. The pearl cover is set with an unengraved silver cartouche. c1830. 2. 5 cm long 3 inches No damage other than the tip of the pearl pick as above. Stock no. JN17

The main body is turned rosewood and the top a disc set with miniature parquetry

The box itself is of a type known as Painted Tunbridge Ware which pre-dates the better known inlaid Tunbridge Ware- the green painted leaf design surrounding the print being a typical embellishment as are the black flecks of paint on the edges

The end section unscrews to reveal the letter scale which is in working order and numbered SW 1
