SOLD….An engraved silver sewing stiletto / awl. c 1860A silver sewing stiletto with a nicely shaped handle and engraved with arabesques. English c 1860 7. 5 cm long approx. 3 inches In excellent condition. Stock no. JT47

'I long to wed the lad I lov' ( there's no last letter as in this case the maker ran out of space but it's not unusual to find unreadable bobbins because of bad spelling

There are two labels- one which is found on their needle packets titled in gold on black 'H Milward & Sons 5-10 Burnished Egg Eyed Sharps'

I suspect they would all have looked the same originally and the pattern has worn off through use

The scissors are in excellent condition- no damage and they will cut but the sheath has lost the tip on one side
