Rich 15ct yellow gold frame with a fine portrait of a gentleman to one side, he is dressed with a high collared white shirt and black coat, he has grey hair and most interesting for the period he seems to be smiling slightly, he definitely has an air of mystery and mischief to him. To the verso there is an elaborately worked fine hairwork display, carefully
light surface wear and patina commensurate with age
The box is hallmarked on the underside with a Chinese hallmark and an image of golden horse

The portrait locket is empty on the reverse with a cream ground
