SOLD.....A turned wood cotton barrel. c 1820An unusual cotton barrel made of rosewood. Cotton barrels are the earliest form of thread container in sewing boxes pre dating reels. This example would have been part of a fitted box with other tools made of rosewood. English c1820. In excellent condition. 4cm high diameter at its widest 3cm Stock no. LC01a

This a toy miniature packet of Players cigarettes on its original card and unopened

The material has the black flecking seen in articles made of domestic animal bone and not ivory

It is lined in a turquoise / green plain paper which is the original

The pattern shows a group of Swallows in flight and is very Art Nouveau in style

In excellent condition with a maroon velvet cushion for the pins
