SOLD…….A glass 'gem' picture antique pin cushion. Brighton. c 1860A good glass or 'gem' picture pin cushion. The image shows the seafront at Brighton with the chain pier in the background. The reverse is a disc of mirror glass and the two sandwich a dark green velvet cushion for the pins. In excellent condition no damage but with the usual shading of the image on the edges when viewed at a slight angle (see last photo). 4. 5cm in diameter. 1. 75 inches Stock no. KW10

There are no obvious hall marks but there is a mark by a side rivet which could be a Continental one-Dutch

The picture is also clear and undamaged with no sign of the usual patching on the edges

fine hairline crack mentioned for accuracy- see photo

There is a small hole in the side through which the thread is pulled keeping the rest clean inside the barrel

In excellent condition just a minor

5cm at the widest

the base unscrews and inside there's a silver toothpick

The ebonized base is trimmed on the edge with a gold on black zigzag pattern
