Antique silver locket brooch, Welsh, Hidden messageA fine and rare antique silver locket brooch. This fantastic piece is engraved in the aesthetic manner with foliage and a belt and buckle, the belt buckle symbolises holding one close. The top of the brooch opens up revealing a little concealed message in Welsh; Cofia Fi, which translates to remember me. Probably given as a token of love. The brooch has a beaded rim and an old c type clasp fastener. It is fully hallmarked for sterling silver,

perfect as a tie or cravat pin or as an accent brooch

some wear to the ribbon commensurate with age

some loss of enamel to the face

this has not been engraved so could be personalised with initials or a crest

Unusually for a an antique bangle this one has both short hallmarks and a full set of hallmarks to the inner

single strand necklace

It has a shield shaped face with an engraved monogram of initials in heavy gothic script

before eventually settling in England
