This would've been made probably from one of the rare home visits during this period

The soldier's name Shinde is on the exterior

Inside the box is an original postcard holding envelope with a Japanese flag and the words "Comfort postcards"

There's also a poem on the back about their sacrificial bravery

and a kiri wreath

and some cherry blossom petals
