English Chess Set by Fisher, mid 19th centuryAn English ivory chess set by Samuel Fisher, mid 19th century one side stained red, the other side left natural, kings with double pieced galleries, queens similar but with single galleries, both surmounted with balustered finials, bishops as split mitres, knights as horses heads, rooks as raised turrets, pawns with baluster knops and mounted with ball finials, the white king signed on the underside of the base: FISHER MAKER 118 STRAND, the king 8.
