Boracite

BoraciteHere we have a good quality Boracite specimen from find the 2009 find in Bolivia. While these specimens are not a new find per se, they are newly mined specimens from this well known locality. Most people are familiar with the "blue" Danburites (included by Magnesioriebeckite) from this locality, but the other staple species found here is Boracite. This piece features a rare, sharp, well formed, translucent, rich blue crystal of this hard to find

blue-green color “butterfly”-twinned crystals with tan Siderite and dark reddish-brown Sphalerite

The Brookites measure up to 7 mm long and are notably free-standing (not lying flat) on the matrix

This piece has some of the largest individual crystals of Wavellite that I have seen from Bolivia

and a surprise discovery from early 2011
