Quamby Rodeo - Wild Cow RideWild Cow riding, often seen at rodeos and agricultural shows, is a traditional event where riders attempt to control a wild cow for as long as possible. The event involves the rider staying on the wild cow often while the wild cow bucks and kicks, for a set duration

(a header and a heeler)

A successful ride on a bucking bull seems like its near impossible

Touching the horse or equipment with his free hand

and the roper then rides away from the calf

During the ride the rider sits over his hand

After the calf is caught

If the horse drags the animal after it has been roped there will be a disqualification and a fine

Bulls seem to watch and feel every move the rider makes and this gives them a chance to buck the rider off if he moves even slightly out of position

The fines are increased  for certain offences making sure that only properly trained horses are used for this event

If a bull bucks you off and you land on the inside of it

Riders will be disqualified for touching the animal or equipment and of course if they are buck off before the end of the 8 seconds
