A large Palais Royal thread winder. French c1820An antique thread winder made c1820 in Paris which would have been part of a set of mother of pearl sewing tools. In excellent condition. 3. 5cm in diameter. Stock no. LR44

Height of inkwell 4cm

The handle is also decorated with a silver lion rampant- the symbol of Scotland

The chape / prongs are also silver with traces of gilding

The blade is stamped with assay marks only and the silver spring cover is engraved with triple diagonals

The pencil is in working order

Five attractive carved mother of pearl buttons with cut steel studs set in a gilt metal frame which is riveted into position in three places

green and a dark blue and are varnished over

Some surface deterioration to the steel but nothing major

The filigree is in excellent condition with no damage

three deep red and a brown with the odd one in clear glass
