and in 1958 he and his buddy Gordon Clark invented the polyurethane foam surfboard

Additional flex was added to the design by thinning the foil in the tip of the fin as well as pairing the fin with our Volan fiberglass in order to create optimal flex and increased projection

which allows the tail of the board to follow the nose
