SOLD…….A charming tan leather stamp / card case embossed with a row of dogsA small leather case possibly intended for stamps but could be used today for business cards. It is very charming as it is embossed with six puppies and their dam dachshunds? Inside it is lined with brown silk and there are two tooled leather pockets on either side. 9 x 5cm 3. 5 x 2 inches In excellent condition. Stock no. KX43

The sides and lid are covered in a marbled paper and the interior in a buff coloured textured paper plus a floral print

The measurements go up to 18 and then the silk is blank until 27 and then blank again to the end

The box itself is of a type known as Painted Tunbridge Ware which pre-dates the better known inlaid Tunbridge Ware- the green painted leaf design surrounding the print being a typical embellishment as are the black flecks of paint on the edges

The silver blade is plain and hall marked for Sheffield 1879

Inside it is lined in blue velvet so it probably contained a glass bottle originally and was taken home as a souvenir perhaps bought at the hotel illustrated
