225,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, Original Lacuqer, Fresh Overhaul, Video1974 Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone, s n 225706. The lacquer is original with 97%+ still present. My repairman just overhauled the sax with all new pads, corks and felts. It plays great from top to bottom and the pads will last for many years. Late Mark VI altos can be fantastic playing instruments and a great value in the marketplace. Selmer experimented with their alto bow lengths and eventually settled on a medium length bow around 1966 1967. This

They can also be a superb value given how much a good Mark VI or new Selmer Supreme costs

Like many saxophones of this vintage

This sax is in near mint condition and was just serviced my my tech prior to sale

There's excellent projection when you need the power

and it truly looks like it has barely been played in its lifetime

Some also refer to this model as a late Radio Improved saxophone

It just received a full mechanical overhaul from Eric Beach

that I think plays closer to an early 1960's vintage

The low notes speak clearly for me without any gurgling

The most notable difference between the Series II and Series III soprano is that this sax is constructed as a single body instrument
