Soft, silky and ready for prime time, this is showing just great today. And it is only going to get better from here!

Like the Combe des Fous

There is a slightly finer mouth feel to the equally large-scaled flavors where the supporting tannins are notably fine-grained that imparts a different texture

the vineyards limestone soils manage to impart the requisite acidity

and the concentration is clear

at least on this showing - it has velvety tannins that pack a punch

short and mildly warm bitter pit fruit-inflected finale

Here too there is enough reduction present to require plenty of aeration

the lowest score any of these lots received was 94-96 (Les Beaumes)

This should age well yet the richness of the material will permit it to drink well young too

full and sleekly muscled flavors are sappy
