Bruno Clair, Gevrey Chambertin(this blend is mostly from En Carougeot with small amounts of Jouise plus the 1er portion of Belair and young vines Clos des Fontenys). A very ripe nose is composed by notes of various purple fruit scents that are nuanced by ample amounts of earth, forest floor and the sauvage. Lovely and understated

A really lovely expression of quite intense fruit - a little too intense to be truly elegant perhaps

The 2006 Contino Graciano (100%) spent 13 months in French and Hungarian oak

Then a bit lower-pitched in the mouth than the Villero and much more tannic on the back end

On the palate there is good size

hugely promising Barolo from Giampaolo Pira

a real fleshpot of fruit but this still needs time to burn off some of its baby fat and reveal its dark berries and minerals underneath

Here too there is enough reduction present to mask the fruit
