Antique Silver Loose Powder Compact Hallmarked 1940sAn appealing fully hallmarked silver powder compact made in the 1940s. The lid has an ornate bright cut panel which features floral motifs and scroll work with niello providing an eye catching contrast. Either side the lid is decorated with an engine turned design of tiny diamond shapes intersected by four fine vertical lines. The base has alternating smooth vertical lines and minute diamond shape guilloche engraving. All clasps & hinges work

The tiny mirror is mounted in a silver gilt bezel & it gives a good reflection - slight subtle age related haze

This lovely card case will hold business cards measuring 81 mm x 52 mm or less
