There are a few pencil notes in the notebook-including two road names which suggest it's original owner lived in the Leeds area

There are also four of children- three of boys one in a naval costume

The two tabs holding the bodkin are a slightly worn but sturdy

They haven't been mounted but were kept in an early advertising box for Brown Windsor Soap c1830

The silk is typical of that found in workbox trays circa 1840-1860
