SOLD..........A figural hemming clamp. c1880-1900An unusual brass hemming clamp with pin cushion. The figure is dressed in a uniform and as these clamps are usually German, a German one. The 'gun' he's holding is the mount for the hemming attachment which moves to clamp the fabric. Behind the figure is a pin emery cushion. c1880 1900 It is in excellent condition. 16cm high in total. The figure is 7cm high from the plinth * please email if you recognize the uniform so it can be dated more accurately.
They are in the Georgian style but are late 19th century
The steel decoration is complete however
They are joined by a length of the original elastic
Although one of the two reels shows obvious signs of it being made of domestic animal bone the other doesn't but they are a pair
A late Victorian scent bottle which lies flat and is decorated with what appears to be foil backed pieces of glass
The song is a known one from a play and is about lost love

A metal case japanned to imitate tortoiseshell containing a knife
It was made in 1896 by James Fenton a Birmingham silversmith
