Comtes Lafon, Montrachet(from two parcels totaling . 33 ha on the Chassagne side, one with 25+ year old vines and the other with 45+ year old vines). The restrained but fantastically complex aromas are ripe, pure and elegant, indeed one can simply smell this and be knocked out. Like the Perrires, there are copious amounts of dry extract, which imparts a wonderfully seductive character to the textured and classy broad shouldered flavors that possess excellent mid palate fat

mint and sweet spices hove on the palate in a decidedly mid-weight Brunello that emphasizes grace and agility

The 2004 Argentiera is sweet and layered in its dark cherries

but has great freshness and definition

I did have a chance to re-taste samples of the same wines from 2009 and was left with a fabulous impression (that confirms the high scores I gave last year)

This vintage contains one-third Cinsault from some vines dating back to 1900

somewhat fleshy flavors yet offers surprisingly good precision on the back end
