Pacific Red Stripe Hogfish (4")Bodianus sepiacaudus Red Stripe Hogfish is a vividly colored, hardy fish that is also known as the Peppermint Hogfish. It makes a great addition to a reef or fish only tank. In a larger (100 gallon or bigger) tank, you can keep more than one, as long as you introduce them simultaneously. They are real jumpers, so a tight fitting lid is a must.

This beauty is almost never seen in the hobby

Good quality live rock to pick on is a big plus

Males sport a blue patch on the throat and yellow fin margins (these characteristics are lacking in females)

Best to feed small amounts several times a day

The only downside is their extreme rarity

A tank size of at least 120 gallons is recommended
