ROUND-LEAVED MALLEE & TEA FOR ONEThis magnificent mallee branch instantly reminded me of camping in the outback as a child, so I wanted to set it against the colour of the earth. Seasonal fruits added vibrancy. This painting appeared in a small collection of work shown at the 2023 Melbourne Affordable Art Fair by Sarah Birtles Art + Advice. We set the table in front of her dining room window and took some photos that I decided to paint

I painted this particular bunch of lilies a few times

and this painting is a celebration of these beautiful leaves

Poppies are so lovely to paint and I wanted them to be the star of this piece
