GuiraudThe 2010 Guiraud is a little closed on the nose like the 2010 Climens and demands a lot of coaxing from the glass. Eventually it reveals scents of dried honey, fig and ginger but they feel muted at the moment. The palate is much better and more expressive with tangy marmalade and quince notes, good depth and fine tension. It is just a case of waiting for the nose to open because the palate really shows the potential here. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners

The 2001 Sori Tildin is stellar

the 2017 Flor de Pingus was produced from very concentrated grapes with lots of tannin

weight and power as well as a bit more complexity to the mineral-driven and impeccably well-balanced finish that is both explosive and palate staining

There is excellent richness to the concentrated and beautifully textured broad-shouldered flavors that possess focused power and a subtle minerality that really comes up on the youthfully austere and strikingly long finish

Scents of lavender

and floral aromas

mouth coating and driving finish that possesses outstanding complexity and persistence

but much of that has been absorbed into the wine
