Paul Pernot, Puligny Montrachet Garenne(from a . 7 ha parcel that was purchased by Pernots great grandfather; it was replanted in 1957 and a portion of the vines are aligot). Once again there is a smoky component to the pretty and cool aromas of ripe citrus confit, essence of pear and plenty of floral wisps. There is slightly better concentration to the palate coating middle weight flavors that exude more evident minerality on the youthfully austere, focused and nicely lingering finale.

Subtle if not imperceptible wood frames the floral-scented nose of citrus

then more stone-fruit than citrus

The cool and restrained nose is mostly comprised by notes of mineral reduction though there are background nuances of iodine
